For Farmers: Cooperative Development in Agricultural Settings

Are you interested in learning about a new cooperative workforce project in rural Colorado that benefits both farmers and farm workers?  Join us for a webinar on December 10th or January 28th highlighting an innovative response to Colorado’s farm labor crisis.

Initiated by the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union (RMFU) and the Rocky Mountain Employee Ownership Center (RMEOC), the project aims to create a multi-stakeholder cooperative, which includes both farmers and farm workers.

Key Goals:

  • The project aims to create a farm labor contracting cooperative.
  • Farm owners will have access to skilled and reliable workers and can reduce their  time spent finding this labor and managing the paperwork.
  • Farm workers will have access to jobs with better wages, benefits, and potential for growth and ownership.

This webinar will:

  • Introduce the goals and values of the project
  • Provide the history of the project
  • Share our feasibility study findings
  • Share what a cooperative business looks like in this context
  • Identify next steps
  • Offer ways you can participate

Our main audiences for this webinar include farm owners, farm workers, and other key agricultural stakeholders, like you!
