Photos: Workers to Owners Gathering

Once a year, members of the Workers to Owners collaborative gather to plan our national strategy to increase the number of employee-owned businesses. This year we gathered in New Jersey.

The Collaborative is made up of people working on employee ownership from every corner of the U.S., from to Detroit to Vermont, from San Francisco to Massachusetts.

This year, we received training on culture from Jennifer Briggs, former VP of Human Resources at New Belgium Brewing and one of the keynotes at our May 14 Company Culture conference.

We spent the first part of our session learning about employee ownership companies and infrastructure in France and Italy.  What was painfully clear, is that to make employee-ownership the norm in a region, much less this country, we’ll need1) a cohesive large collaborative effort and 2) intentional government support.
